messageBoard
messageBoard was an educational Windows Phone app paired with the myDesk app. It allowed students to communicate with each other in a monitored setting, about their classes, about their assignments, and for entertainment.
Unexpected Uses
The use of this app in the classroom taught me a big lesson in student behavior along with privacy and security. Student logins were not secure, as it was a predictable algorithm used for generating default passwords. If a student got their hands on another's ID number, they could figure out that student's password. This led to one student logging in as another and bullying their classmates. We had to track logins and IP addresses to figure out which student was responsible.
